GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Manager will advance Ross' company-wide sustainability program by building reporting, data and analytics solutions and by driving key sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities will include leading external sustainability reporting and compliance, advancing data management and controls processes, tracking progress towards goals and KPIs, supporting internal and external communication, and engaging with cross-functional subject matter experts and leaders.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for data and organization, as well as knowledge
and experience with climate and other sustainability topics, frameworks, and reporting. Strong analytical, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills are mandatory for this role. The Manager will report to the Senior Director of Sustainability and will have significant exposure to Group Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability as well as Ross' senior leadership.

The base salary range for this role is $105,600 - $161,100. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead the environmental sustainability reporting workstream
o Execute public sustainability reporting in line with recognized ESG standards and frameworks such as GHG Protocol, TCFD, GRI, SASB, and CDP.
o Pursue data management tools to assist with greenhouse gas (GHG), waste, and other sustainability data collection, validation, and analysis.
o Implement reporting policies, processes, controls, and documentation to address current and anticipated reporting requirements, such as SEC climate disclosures.
o Support internal and external communication about sustainability and ESG achievements.
o Monitor trends, regulations and emerging issues related to external disclosures, including data needs for new and emerging sustainability topics.

• Drive sustainability initiatives
o Investigate opportunities to increase energy efficiency, reduce GHG emissions, and minimize waste throughout our operations and supply chain.
o Perform research, stakeholder engagement, and analysis as part of materiality assessments and carbon risk and opportunity analyses.
o Research and develop funding mechanisms for sustainable initiatives.

• Inform strategic direction for sustainability program
o Work with Senior Director and the Environmental Sustainability Steering Committee to maintain and advance a multi-year sustainability strategy and action plan.
o Assess risks and opportunities to inform Ross' sustainability priorities.
o Monitor ESG industry trends, best practices, regulations, and peer benchmarks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• BA/BS preferably in Accounting, Business/Economics, Engineering, or a related business discipline with focus on sustainability, climate, or ESG preferred.

• 5+ years of relevant work experience working with sustainability reporting, accounting, auditing, standards, or guidance, preferably with a retailer or consulting firm.

• Extensive expertise with relevant GHG emissions and waste reporting standards and frameworks (e.g., CDP, SBTi, TCFD, GRI, SASB, SDGs, GHG protocol, etc.) and ESG ratings (e.g., ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, S&P).

• Experience with assurance activities including internal and/or third-party audits.

• Analytical skills necessary to evaluate and organize data from disparate systems and sources. A deep understanding of applied sustainability analytics, and experience in financial valuation and how to align sustainability with business goals.

• Organized and independent worker with clear abilities in solving problems and making strong recommendations.

• Experience applying standards, procedures, and processes to implement data management system and/or regulatory requirements.

• Positive attitude and willingness to step into all levels of roles as the sustainability program evolves.

• Excellent planning, organizational, and execution skills with unwavering attention to detail.

• Collaboration skills and the ability to execute projects with multiple objectives and stakeholders.

• Strong PowerPoint, Word and Excel skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

This role requires regular in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
