Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Communication

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Responsible for creating, managing and gate keeping all Supply Chain operational and cultural communications, targeting both the Supply Chain Corporate audience and DC-based Leaders and Associates. Ensures consistency of message and voice; optimizes communication channels, segmentation, delivery and measurement. Has a strong passion and advocacy for the non-exempt Production Associate group and their success and uses that passion as the lens through which communication strategy is developed and implemented.

Requires a creative and highly organized communications "generalist" who will develop communications campaigns and activities to educate and engage employees; drive emotional connection to the Ross and dd's brands; support strategic business objectives; and reinforce the company culture.

Comfortable working with senior business and Human Resource executives and has the ability create compelling PowerPoint presentations, speeches and experiences for live meetings, including video production and post-meeting survey analysis.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Communication and Advocacy
  • Serve as communications lead for Supply Chain teams, including corporate and DCs.
  • Actively pursues opportunities to improve communication practices and processes
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on all areas of communications for cross functional business partners and Supply Chain leadership
  • Proactively builds relationships at all levels with business partners in HR, Supply Chain and throughout the Business.
  • Provides expert communication counsel and guidance, and leverages that expertise to help drive the priorities of the business overall.
  • Able to translate messaging into communications that are consistent, understandable and easy to execute and translate. Must be able to adjust tone and language for multiple audiences (individually and through team).
  • Manages the scheduling and execution of rollouts of Supply Chain/DC initiatives other projects as needed.
  • Interfaces with and presents up to all levels of management.
  • Interfaces with external vendors to create supplemental instructional materials for Supply Chain and DCs as needed.
  • Responsible for driving cultural support and changes through communications like newsletters, associate commitments, messaging, management meetings, huddle announcements.
  • Development of internal communications strategy and editorial calendar to ensure optimal timing for messages.

Administration and Support
  • Ensures that Department is providing a high level of service to all stakeholder groups. Consistently seeks out areas for improvement.
  • Responsible for managing data collection as needed through task management or other online survey tools.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • College degree in relevant field and 5-10 years of experience in relevant field
  • Experience and passion for leading and developing people and teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with executive leadership autonomously and with confidence
  • Stays current with new communications technologies and processes, is naturally curious and is constantly asking "how might we do this better?"
  • Advanced PC Skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Understanding of supply chain production operations environment preferred. Must be able to understand and interpret functions and systems in all operating areas for communication to the DC and Supply Chain corporate Associates

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including toengage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
