GENERAL PURPOSE:The Sr. Analyst will provide financial and strategic analysis to support the Store Operations team, particularly in the areas of store operating hours and register utilization, but also covering a wide range of other areas within Store Operations. The Sr. Analyst will report to the Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence, but will frequently interact with the VP Store Finance and GVP Store Finance, as well as the SVP and VPs of other Stores functions (e.g., Field Management, Operations and Loss Prevention). The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for completing complex data analysis (with limited supervision) in an accurate and timely fashion using key financial and operational metrics. This Sr. Analyst will use their training in analytics and various coding programs to analyze information and draw conclusions based on their findings, and then summarize the results of those analyses into clear written communications for executive review. The position will require the analyst to establish cross-functional partnerships across all facets of the organization (both Field and Corporate).
The base salary range for this role is $73,500 - $ 110,400. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Drive the optimization of Store Operating hours for 1,800+ stores, through the execution of complex analysis, development of recommendations for "C"-level executive audiences, and process management associated with all Store Hours changes
• Become a Subject Matter Expert on using models to analyze Return on Investment resulting from Store Hours changes
• Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the Store Hours model and processes
• Forecast key metrics such as projected Sales Lift and Net Gain based on historical Sales and transaction data
• Develop recommendations for where to extend or reduce operating hours, leveraging insights from ROI analysis, feedback collected from Store and Loss Prevention leadership, and individual store characteristics
• Manage the processes for implementing store hours changes, including tracking of results, communication with key business partners and management of timelines
• Develop and present compelling materials to communicate the results of analysis, key insights, and recommendations to mid- and "C"-level executives within the company
• Support ad-hoc corporate & field requests for Store hours analysis and change implementation
• Partner with Store Payroll and Workforce Management to ensure correct operating hours are budgeted and executed in schedules
Lead all Register Program work-streams to help identify current constraints in new stores, existing stores, and Self Check Out Implementation
• Become a subject matter expert on all register related models and analysis by partnering with method improvements team, store planning, and execution teams
• Produce executive level reporting for business partners and field SVP/RVP's on a consistent basis to identify optimal register count in each store, and clear communication of register utilization (by store, by time of day, etc.)
• Identify stores that are exceeding their register capacity, manage & facilitate the permanent register program, recapping findings on stores requiring support and prioritization for additional registers
• Maintain an accurate register model for both brands, by executing regular updates to the register database and underlying model assumptions
• Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency and scope of the register model and process
• Support ad-hoc corporate & field requests for register utilization related analysis
• Document Register Program processes and model operation
Develop and maintain the overall database architecture, planning, and integration with existing IT databases and team analytical models.
• Support the design and development of the team's data architecture strategy and roadmap including infrastructure, modeling, and visualizations.
• Ensure the database ecosystem is optimized, efficient and that the data is available and up to date for data analysts use.
• Serve as a technology expert for Business Intelligence and advise partners accordingly

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related analytical fields
• Minimum of 3+ years of work experience in an analyst role is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group - executives, managers, and subject matter experts within and outside of the department. Particularly the ability to explain and present analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences.
• Strong decision-making skills with the ability to analyze situations and make logical conclusions.
• Proficiency with statistical tools (e.g. SQL, R, Python), with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Excel) and other statistical & reporting packages. Solid technical database knowledge and experience optimizing advanced SQL queries on large data sets.
