Senior IT Applications Analyst (Merchandising)

• The Sr Applications Analyst (Merchandising / GTM/ Custom Dev) is responsible for providing ongoing system support, influencing bug fixes, enhancements and projects that apply new or existing technologies and solutions to solve business needs.

• Works with internal business customers and IT partners to identify, understand and resolve issues and work with management and IT teams to define overall functional and technical direction. Partners with the business to determine system needs, influencing and guiding the change process from concept to implementation.

• Coordinates the efforts of internal and external resources and key business partners in the support of existing production systems and execution of new system activities.

• Serves as a functional and/or technical expert in one or more disciplines associated to Merchandising, GTM, and Custom Dev Systems.

The base salary range for this role is $90,500 - $148,700. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

Relationship Management

• Document requirements and assume responsibility for obtaining sign-off from customer and business partners on support efforts and project activities s as needed.

• Translate functional requirements to technical requirements (and Technical to Functional) as needed.

• Manage relationships with Business partners and Support teams across Merchandising and GTM areas
Development Lifecycle

• Highlight/identify gaps in existing functionality and review bug fix, enhancements and project requirements with stakeholders and leadership as needed.

• Direct and advise on developing high-level functional design solutions

• Validate that designs produced support the development, execution, and operations of service for bug fix, enhancements and projects as needed

• Drive validation processes to ensure that detailed designs match high level designs and are traceable to requirements in functional specification for bug fix, enhancements, and projects as needed.

• Provide influence and authoritative advice to the business and development teams during the design and build phases to ensure quality deliverables are produced.

• Partner on test execution throughout all phases of testing (i.e. unit, end-to-end, integration, performance, operational readiness, user acceptance.) for bug fix, enhancements, and projects as needed.

• Routinely manage User / Business acceptance testing and obtain sign-off from the business for bug fix, enhancements, and projects as needed.

• Direct, advise and support the creation of implementation deliverable: training plan, training schedule, job aids, transaction support, etc.
Architecture & Information Management

• Define how the different application components will need to interact with each other for bug fix, enhancements, and projects as needed.

• Drive the alignment of support, compliance, and security requirements for Merchandising/ GTM / and Custom Dev tools and applications (RMS, Bamboo Rose, or comparable systems)

• Understand application eco-systems / infrastructure / integration relationships related to multiple products
Vendor Management

• Work with software and/or hardware vendors on enhancements and production issues

• At least 6+ years' experience supporting merchandising (RMS preferable) and GTM (Bamboo Rose preferable) systems, as well as, or IT consulting experience supporting high volume retailers these business areas. Solid understanding of retail dynamics within a complex, highly integrated environment.

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline.

• Ability to act independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments

• Ability to exercise independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

• Experience in risk identification and management

• Solid understanding of SQL, UNIX, and JAVA tools a must

• Strong understanding of RMS Merchandising and or Bamboo Rose GTM system

• Excellent communication skills and expert application of productivity suite software (i.e. Microsoft Office 365)

• Working experience of or knowledge with business automation or cloud computing client-server architectures

• Solid understanding of SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle)

• Working experience in Retail, particularly in Operational Support or custom Development

• Strong analytical, problem solving, root cause analysis

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
