The Lead IT Applications Analyst, HCM is responsible for leading and working on projects in the area of Human Capital Management (HCM), such as Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Management and Workforce Management, throughout the System Development Lifecycle. Areas of focus include architecture, information management, technical design, technical services, project management, and production support.


Architecture and Application Analysis and Design for Moderate to Highly Complex Projects

• Define how different application components will need to interact with each other.

• Drive the alignment of application design with the application architecture standards.

Development Lifecycle for Moderate to Highly Complex Projects

• Highlight/identify gaps in existing functionality and review requirements with stakeholders.

• Translate functional requirements to technical requirements.

• Direct and advise on developing functional and technical designs.

• Validate that designs produced adhere to architectural standards and support the development, execution, and operations of HCM application services.

• Provide influence and authoritative advice to the development team during the design and build phases to ensure quality deliverables are produced.

• Provide influence and authoritative advice to the testing teams during various phases of testing to ensure a quality solution is produced.

Technical Services

• Direct the execution of release and deployment plans with all stakeholders.

Project Management of Small to Medium Complexity Projects

• Advise, review, and drive the creation of project plans and status reports.

• Advise, review and create reporting/dashboards for executive review.

• Help drive creation and review of estimates for technical delivery within HCM applications

Production Support

• Provide Level 3 support on production issues related to Corporate Systems

• At least 8 years of experience in the IT field or equivalent work experience.

• Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline or equivalent work experience.

• Deep technical and functional knowledge of Corporate Systems, especially HCM applications such as Core HR, Benefits, Payroll, Talent Management, Workforce Management.

• Deep technical expertise in PeopleSoft HCM 9.2

• Experience supporting business users in HR, Benefits and Payroll

• Understanding of SDLC methodologies and best practices.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to team members across all levels of an organization.

• Technically competent; ability to work with internal development resources, technical and solution architects, engineers, and external vendor resources.

• Experience and understanding of application and technical architecture concepts.

• Ability to work independently and creatively solve complex problems.

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize task as circumstances change.

• Ability to provide leadership, guidance and training to others.

• Ability to provide accurate estimates of time and cost necessary to complete potential project milestones and implementation plans.


• Experience working for a national retailer with multiple stores and/or a consulting firm.

• Demonstrated ability to manage staff remotely, across multiple time zones.

• Expertise in implementing and supporting HR SaaS applications

• Expertise in PeopleSoft Absence Management


Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
