IT Manager I, QA Services


The Manager of QA Services is responsible for leading the centralized QA team at Ross. This role will be responsible for the creation of QA/Testing standards, best practices, processes/guidelines. He/she will help in the creation of QA services roadmap, selection of QA tools for the enterprise, implementation of those tools and helping the organization adopt it finally. This role has a cross functional element to it as he/she will not QA products or applications but will influence those development teams to follow the processes and use the tools. A fair portion of his / her time will be spent managing the QA tool vendors/issues with the tool etc.


Testing Services

• Create and implement QA standards, best practices, processes and guidelines for testing (e.g. for functional testing, automation, performance testing etc)

• Maintain processes already implemented such that the expected quality outcome or ROI is achieved

• Create / complete QA roadmap based on current state and 5 year roadmap

• Select appropriate QA testing tool(s) , implement them and maintain them

• Provide or enable QA tools training to the org as needed

• Monitor and provide test QA services KPI/ metrics

• Manage the test environments and test data for moderate to highly complex projects.

Vendor Management

• Work with software and/or hardware vendors on implementation, deployment and support of all testing tools.

Technical Services

• Implement and support testing tools and related products and technologies.

• Guide development teams/other portfolios with test execution, monitoring and tuning.

• Provide tools administration and release management support.

• At least 5-7 years leading QA services as a COE or QA work streams in large projects

• In-depth understanding of Testing Methodologies through all phases of the SDLC.

• Strong performance testing working knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of testing tools.

• Understanding of SDLC Methodologies and best practices.

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present to and coordinate team members across all levels of an organization.

• Technically competent; ability to work with internal development resources, technical and solution architects, engineers, and external vendor resources.

• Experience and understanding with application and technical architecture concepts.

• Understanding of test case management tools and defect tracking systems

• Ability to work independently and creatively solve complex problems.

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize task as circumstances change.

• Ability to provide leadership, guidance and training to others.

• Ability to provide accurate estimates of time and cost necessary to complete potential project milestones and implementation plans.


• Experience implementing and supporting Testing tools such as Tosca, Microfocus, OATS, CloudTest, LoadRunner, TouchTest, etc.

• Experience implementing and supporting Testing Diagnostic tools such as dynaTrace and mPulse.

• Experience supporting Application Lifecycle Management tools such as JIRA, Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, etc.

• Experience supporting Project Portfolio Management tools such as Clarity or Instantis

• Previous IT Retail experience


Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
