Director, Allocation Operations

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The company seeks an Allocation Director to join our dynamic team. This is a new role to strengthen our Allocation Operations Team. The primary objective of this role is to oversee project planning for both technical (software development) and non-technical (business process) projects. The Project Management Director aligns with Allocation Leaders on the business priorities to develop resource plans that achieve our department goals. They lead the translation of business requirements into actions for their Director team and ensure all project stakeholders are clear on their roles and responsibilities. The Allocation Director oversees the work of their direct reports as well as assigned project resources and holds them accountable in achieving project goals.

As an Allocation Director, you will:

• Meet with Allocation Leaders to establish project vision and scope.

• Collaborate with your business partners and team to give guidance, identify opportunities, and provide potential solutions to improve project outcomes.

• Lead Manager teams in establishing the right-sized approach to project resourcing.

• Drive cross department leadership communication to ensure awareness of interconnected business processes and downstream impacts.

• Communicate with Allocation Operations Management Team and other key business partners to establish and achieve project goals. Ensure VP and business partners stay informed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Project Management

• Lead a data-driven team to identify project requirements and design.

• Work collaboratively to influence stakeholders to adopt designs that have the highest ROI with a right-sized approach and solution.

• Oversee the execution and analysis throughout all AO projects and their associated deliverables.

• Analyze and understand broad implications of project decisions on business objectives and communicate implications to your team and business partners.

• Manage the hindsighting and associated analytics to implement regular improvements to Project Management processes.

Communicate Effectively

• Clearly articulate your point of view; comfortable presenting your analysis, insights, and recommendations to Executive Leaders (VP+)

• Negotiate effectively and push back when needed in a diplomatic way

• Ensure project decisions, including business nuances, are clearly communicated to direct reports, internal partners, and other business partners as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's Degree

• 5+ Years of Project Management experience

• 5+ Years of experience Leading, Building and Developing a Team

• Ability to effectively utilize logic and analytical data to sell ideas

• Experience influencing and Engaging with Senior Leaders (VP+)

• Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills

• Strong fundamental business skills - must be Excel and PowerPoint proficient

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
