About this opportunity ….

An Associate Technical Analyst at Ross is a collaborator. This position works closely with and through Product Technical Services leadership, Merchants and Sample Team to provide technical expertise and support on a specific product category. Its trains Merchants on basic product knowledge and supports the training of Sample Team members. This position assesses risk and quality concerns to ensure compliance to required instructions as they prepare to become and serve as technical services subject matter expert.


  • Leads technical aspects of TOP fittings with minimal assistance from Technical Design Managers
  • Submit fit list and organize fit samples for fitting
  • Evaluate and maintain proper notes during fitting for future reference
  • Leads and owns fittings for easier bodies and basic fit corrections. Find solutions utilizing product related experiences to improve fit for assigned product category or categories and offers advice to merchants and/or sample team on findings.
  • Collaborate with merchants to gain insight into merchant perspective and knowledge on product, and work with technical services senior management to relay and educate sample team so they understand implications to commercialization and production for assigned product category or categories.
  • Train merchants for assigned product category on technical issues in partnership with Product Technical Services management and Merchant leadership.
  • Contribute to, format and publish company technical standards and procedures as related to assigned category/categories with guidance from the technical services leadership.
  • Drive expansion of own technical knowledge to advance technical skills.

Who you are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in technical design, pattern making, production or related field required
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in apparel pre-production required
  • You are knowledgeable about fabric, trim and construction
  • You have the ability to set up fit tech packs & spec sheets
  • You have knowledge of the fit production process
  • You have Intermediate Experience with Excel and Adobe Illustrator
  • You have the ability to illustrate fit photos and garment corrections
  • You have the ability to measure and spec fit samples
  • You are detail oriented
  • You have excellent analytical skills
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • You have the aptitude to train, coach and mentor
  • You have the ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team including merchants and sample organization
