Associate Analyst, IT Applications (Store Systems – New Stores)

GENERAL PURPOSE:


The Associate Application Analyst is responsible applying new or existing technologies and solutions to solve business needs. Works with IT and business teams to determine system needs and the execution of new system projects. Responsible for research and analysis of technical data and problems of varying complexity for development of recommendations to solve problems and issues related to technical operations. Participates in cross-functional meetings and working sessions to address technical or systems issues. Determines best practices and suggests how to improve current practices. Completes analysis of business requirements, as it relates to technical infrastructure design, and ensure traceability of the design to the business requirements. Assesses testing requirements and prepares testing strategies, as well as preparing implementation and transition plans. Additionally, this position will work with IT Finance to ensure fiscal responsibility and efficiency are maintained through our budgeting, planning, monthly forecast processes.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Participating in projects throughout the entire systems development life cycle (including creating timely / thorough status reports and leading status meetings) – ensuring that:
    • Requirements are defined accurately
    • Systems are designed/coded or purchased that meet the defined requirements, and that execute efficiently
    • Associated system interfaces are designed, coded, and tested successfully
    • Test plans (full life cycle, including integration) and training plans are designed and executed successfully
    • All required system and user documentation is created accurately
    • New Store Openings are completed on time and under budget
  • Assists in automation IT New Store processes.
  • Performs analysis of business issues utilizing established methodology and tools within areas of within New Stores portfolio.
  • Provides support and collaboration in completing analysis, providing ad-hoc reports, information or process mapping, and/or alignment of the business and related resources.
  • Contributes to process improvement and solution discussions and contribute towards outcomes in written and verbal format.
  • Assists in the development and design of new business processes and the elaboration and updating of existing business processes within IT New Stores portfolio.
  • Participates in cross-functional team initiatives and process improvement projects within IT New Stores portfolio.
  • Prepare and maintain financial documentation for IT New Store Openings including but not limited to the building and managing of monthly cashflow and forecasts.
  • Prepare annual budgets and 5-Year Plan for New Store openings by understanding the business drivers and using that information work with IT Finance to accurately predict costs and timing of spend.
  • Evaluate technical designs, developing alternatives, and recommending appropriate solutions.
  • Collaborating with other teams, within IT and business teams to ensure timely and successful issue resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Undergraduate college required
  • 2 years prior relevant work experience
  • Detail oriented, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Strong analytical ability – must be able to synthesize data, be able to error check and reconcile own work and be able to design analysis to answer specific questions.
  • Team oriented, yet able to work independently
  • A continual desire and capability to learn
  • Build relationships with a wide variety of internal contacts. Ability to effectively communicate and partner with multiple levels from peer to Senior Leaders and vendors.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Basic programming skills (batch scripts, T-SQL).
  • Basic UX design skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Retail IT Store systems infrastructure.
  • Understanding of corporate to store network topology.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:


Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
