Analyst, Shortage Control

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Analyst of Shortage Control is responsible supporting the physical inventory count cycles and analyzing and reporting shrink results. The analyst will prepare shrink related reporting, manage vendor billing, forecast and reconcile the physical inventory expense budget, research shrink related concerns and assist in analysis of shrink related initiatives. The analyst of shortage control will conduct in-depth data analysis to identify root causes and recommend alternative course of action based on logical assumptions. Responsibilities may also include support of the operational execution of the semi-annual store physical inventories. The analyst will attend local store inventory events to develop an in-depth technical understanding of the store and vendor count process and systems to become a "PI knowledge expert" who can troubleshoot and resolve inventory related issues with all levels of the Ross/dd's field organization.

The base salary range for this role is $73,500 - $110,400. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Cross train with other shortage team members to prepare and distribute various shortage reports for back up reporting needs. Be able to provide actionable feedback and reports to field operations. Partner with cross functional groups to communicate exceptions and findings.

• Monitor the daily activities associated with store physical inventories. Schedule store physical inventories and troubleshoot/resolve conflicts with Inventory Vendor, Regional Inventory Captains and Field Management teams. Weekly analysis of historical data and trends to develop and maintain unit estimate model. Maintain inventory tracking sheets, daily monitoring and tracking of inventory day vendor issues and preparation/analysis of post inventory vendor recaps and results.

• Conduct in depth data analysis to identify root causes and recommend alternative course of action based on logical assumptions.

• Assist in ROI analysis based on various current and proposed shortage initiatives.

• Conduct ad hoc analysis requests from all departments.

• Attend local store inventory events

• Monitor execution of self-scan inventory counts. Ensure timely receipt, testing and return of equipment, inventory close out, report downloads and prepare/analyze recap reports and results.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Accounting or Business Degree preferred

• 2+ years of experience in financial / business analysis (retail experience preferred)

• Strong analytical skills with data driven approach to solving problems with large data sets

• Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy on work output

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to problem solve on the on the spot

• Strong fundamental business skills - must be Excel and PowerPoint proficient

• Prioritize multiple competing projects under tight deadlines

• Retail store experience and/or working with field organization preferred

• Good oral and written communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

This role requires regular in-office presence, including attending in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
