GENERAL PURPOSE:The Transportation Systems Technician provides critical support to the transportation operations team including providing training on the Transportation Management System and Pool Shipper systems to internal and external users. Develop and maintain documentation of standard operating procedures, provide instructions to internal users for process changes, help desk type support to carriers and vendors, track system issues, act as a liaison between business entities during rollout of new processes and coordinating carrier on-boarding to EDI use in conjunction with the Transportation Management System.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Responsible for TMS and Pool Shipper training at all levels including associate, vendors & carrier. Train and rollout of system & process improvements.
• Develop and maintain all standard operating documentation and process flow diagrams of operational processes.
• Provide help desk type support and track internal and external transportation management system users and be a liaison between business entities during new process roll outs.
• Evaluate change impact of process and system changes to internal and external system users and develop and deliver appropriate communication and training in advance of changes being rolled out.
• Research and analyze detailed system data to identify trends and communication needed to be given carriers for improving process compliance.
• Provide transportation management system and pool shipper configuration for routine business changes such as pool route changes, priority orders, etc.
• Coordinate EDI on-boarding activities between IT and carriers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to communicate with all levels and departments within and outside the company.
• High level working knowledge of Microsoft Power Point, Word, Excel, and Access
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills
• 2-3 years of experience in a transportation support role
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Strong self-motivation and the ability to work aggressively to complete projects on time
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, reaching, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, handling objects with hands, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Job occasionally requires lifting up to 10 pounds.
