GENERAL PURPOSE:

Responsible for developing and maintaining all internal field and store communications, policies, and procedures in a clearly defined voice and brand as well as managing the distribution and timelines of communications in a variety of formats. A successful Sr. Specialist is a passionate advocate for the field and their success, and uses that passion as the lens through which communication strategy is developed and implemented. Project management, relationship building, and the ability to influence upward are key skills required for this role.

The base salary range for this role is $75,700 - $113,650. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Field Communications and Advocacy

• Creates, reviews, edits, and improves content for all written communications to meet the needs of various departments within the Company (guides, manuals, tasks, memos, emails, etc.)

• Develops and implements communication strategies for, and communicates the rollout of, new programs or processes to stores for efficient adoption

• Responsible for communications and projects, of higher scope, to our field leaders

• Advises business partners on appropriate communication strategies and makes recommendations on most effective vehicles

• Works cross-functionally with various business partner teams; acts as a liaison between the field and corporate departments

• Helps influence and negotiate timing of field communications

• Responsible for holding business partners accountable for providing appropriate content and adhering to Communications timelines and overall strategy

• Maintains appropriate voice for each targeted audience in all communications to support the Ross cultural experience. Models the Ross and dd's values-driven voice of leadership

• Proactively seeks feedback to improve communications and visits stores to evaluate effectiveness

• Supports event planning and execution for annual District Manager and Field Leadership meetings

• Designs and produces quality written and visual communications to meet the needs of the Operations group (manuals, store meeting agendas, task management communications, quick guides, etc.)

• Develops strong relationships with field partners and leverages those relationships to ensure communications are high impact, accurate, and relevant

Project Management and Administration

• Responsible for preparing and publishing all types of communication for all stores (i.e. gathers technical information, researches procedures, layouts and images)

• Manages assigned projects to ensure that internal procedures such as schedules, proof readings, printing approvals, and job archiving have been properly completed

• Responsible for maintaining documentation updates with indexing and tracking systems

• Proactively identifies team process improvements

• Maintains calendars for milestones and releases for annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly communications

• Seeks feedback and obtains consensus from project initiation through final product approval

• Proposes communications solutions to senior management effectively. Strong verbal communicator

• Manages assigned projects to ensure that internal procedures such as schedules, proof readings, printing approvals, and job archiving have been properly completed

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or another related field.

• 5-7 years of experience in relevant field

• Solid written and verbal communication skills; experience in creating engaging communication vehicles that drive understanding and execution from the end user

• Seasoned communications professional with strong business writing and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail

• Ability to interact professionally and effectively present information to all levels within the team and organization

• Ability to negotiate and influence cross functional partners and leadership

• Strong project management history; proven ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously while managing shifting priorities and delivering quality results

• Advanced PC Skills, Microsoft Office Applications, Publisher, Adobe Suite; experience with task management software a plus

• Ability to identify communication solutions and work on projects with higher scope and complexity using advanced PC skills

• Enthusiastic, positive, creative, self-motivated, open to feedback

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.

Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
