About this opportunity...

The Presentations Team acts as a liaison for the merchants, driving processes and leveraging analysis to make sure product is on the selling floor in the right location, at the right time.

The Lead plays a pivotal role leading the execution of the Merchant in-store presentation vision within assigned area, ensuring the outcomes are aligned with the company's strategic goals. For the numerous themed displays throughout the year as well as the day-to-day presentations, the Lead will perform the required unit prep work required for set up and constant positioning of product.

The Lead acts as a liaison between their merchant partner and several departments across the organization including, but not limited to, Store Operations, Legal, and Finance.

The Lead is responsible for focusing on the entire process from beginning to end, measuring results, and introducing innovation into the process that can impact results, enhance profitability, and assist the organization to meet its business objectives and goals.

The base salary range for this role is $81,000 to $110,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

What you will do and what you will learn...

Key Business Partner
  • Be a subject matter expert (SME) for an assigned product/category.
  • Act as liaison, driving Merchant vision for the presentation of merchandise in stores.
  • Develop partnerships with merchants and cross-functional support teams.

Drive the Execution of Merchant Presentation Vision
  • Lead meetings with merchants to discuss and prepare for upcoming merchandising changes.
  • Lead and influence cross-functional business partners to ensure collaboration for shared goals. Manage the resolution and escalation of questions and issues submitted. Effectively communicate with cross-functional partners.
  • Develop and execute plans for new Merchant initiatives, Events, and the Cardboard Display Unit (CDU) submission process.
  • Lead the timely development and delivery of Store Presentation Guide to Store Operations.
  • Anticipate and communicate high risk concerns by product area.
  • Ensure outcomes align with organizational strategic goals.

Support Daily Callouts
  • Work collaboratively through Store Operations to manage merchandise needs that require immediate action and provide an actionable plan for the stores.
  • Provide Merchant SME support for specific product areas and timely responses to incoming presentation questions.

Measure and Report Results
  • Analyze monthly unit data and provide recommendations.
  • Provide Event/color ticket Compliance and Validation Reporting.

Training
  • Assess and provide recommendations for training needs.
  • Create best practices and process documentation.
  • Train merchants and cross-functional partners.

Process Improvement
  • Evaluate, design, implement, measure, monitor and control business processes by product group (i.e. measures change in execution through merchant visit feedback).
  • Drive continuous process improvement of merchandise presentation for assigned area; proactively develop solutions/processes to improve efficiency.

What you need to be successful...
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required
  • 5+ years of retail experience and specific product knowledge
  • Ross store and merchant knowledge a plus
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to flex styles across different stakeholders
  • Ability to inspire others and lead teams
  • Some travel may be required
  • Experience in establishing relationships and running cross-functional projects Able to work effectively with Buyers/Directors and above
  • Excel fluency / RMS knowledge or the ability to operate as a subject matter expert for merchandise systems and processes
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to organize by logical workflow
  • Ability to provide structure around disparate requests and actions
