About this opportunity...

The Sample Supervisor is responsible for managing ~4-6 Sample Processor direct reports. This individual needs to be skilled at overseeing and accurately executing process steps to effectively support PTS (Product Technical Services) and Merchants in sample management and merchandising events. Effective communication, high attention to detail and relationship management is key. This individual is responsible for maintaining high standards, consistency, accuracy, and timely work in sample support, and staying proficient in the Sample Tool and Events calendar to be an ongoing resource for their team and Cross-Functional Partners.

The base salary range for this role is $67,800 to $79,000. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

What you will do and what you will learn...

Manage / Support Sample Processing and Merchandising Events
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the daily work of 4-6 Sample Processors.
  • Act as a resource for ongoing Sample training and for day-to-day questions from the Business.
  • Manage daily merchandising events and support merchant needs accordingly to flex event space.
  • Operate as subject matter expert for Sample and Events processes. Utilize knowledge to support team in process / tool questions.
  • Proactively manage associates on a continual basis; set performance standards, hold associates to agreed-upon deadlines and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

Oversee Sample Processors Performance
  • Motivate and support the team to execute set deliverables.
  • Accurately assess individuals against set performance standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Set clear expectations and align with the Sample Processors. Provide timely, balanced feedback.

Prioritize Work and Allocate Resources
  • Coordinate with PTS and Merchants to understand how to prioritize volume of samples in a given day / week, for upcoming events, as well as understand when to expect business peaks in sample volume.
  • Analyze this information to effectively allocate resources. In addition, must be able to flex the team when unforeseen peaks and valleys in workload occur. Partner with Manager on recommendations to reassign associates based on long-term workload shifts.

Drive Processes and Process Improvements
  • Maintain strong knowledge and proficiency in the sample tool and processes.
  • Partner with PTS / Manager as needed to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Synthesize best practices from the team and share across the organization (up to management and with cross-functional partners).

Relationship Management
  • Establish strong relationships with the team, PTS, Merchandising, Mailroom, and other key Business Partners.
  • Proactively problem solve issues and offer a range of solutions to partners.

Communication
  • Clearly and directly communicates expectations, goals, tasks and strategies to team.
  • Flexes communication depending on audience to ensure clear understanding.
  • Keeps Manager informed of important matters and problems.

What you need to be successful...
  • Associate's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of proven work experience / relevant roles / stores / etc.
  • 2+ years of proven supervisor / manager experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Demonstrate decision-making ability
  • Process oriented; prior experience implementing and maintaining strict process guidelines preferred
  • Strong analytical and good knowledge of MS Office
