GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Fixture Design Lead supports the design, development and testing of new fixtures for Ross and dd's. They coordinate multiple fixture design projects each quarter. They collaborate with fixture vendors, Fixture Purchasing, Store Planning and other business partners, to create store fixtures that meet functional and aesthetic standards. They execute projects per approved project plans, identify and resolve issues, and adhere to best practices for design.

The base salary range for this role is $77,900 - $117,050. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Project Planning

• Develops and supports project timelines and budgets, including creation of project plans, communication to key stakeholders, and assisting in the development of operational procedures.

• Coordinates requests for vendor design proposals, and analysis of submittals, for review with leadership.

• Develops fixture design concepts for review, including sketches, renderings, engineering drawings, and assembly drawings.

• Leads kickoff meetings with project partners. Recaps these meetings and drives resolution of action items.

Project Execution

• Leads assessment of engineering samples and prototypes for conformance to design specifications, identifies variances and nonconformances, recommends action plans to address, drives closeout of action plan with vendors.

• Leads testing of new fixture designs for multiple stores. Provides onsite support for installation as assigned. Validates that new design is installed to standard. Conducts frequent follow-ups, including monthly walkthroughs and rapid response to store feedback, to ensure design is performing as expected.

• Maintain schedules to ensure deadlines are met. Resolves issues timely within budget. Sends weekly recaps of project progress including issue resolution status.

• Closely tracks projects costs within budget, coordinates approved change orders to address concerns, and provides timely cost information to finance partners.

• Creates and tracks the project punchlist to ensure effective and timely closeout. Prepares and sends final project recap, including photo validation, to support documentation of satisfactory project completion.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• BA/BS degree required.

• 3-5 years of experience

• Strong organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail

• Strong communication and collaboration with business partners and stakeholders

• Proficient in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet

• Able to clearly sketch and render fixture design concepts for nontechnical audiences

• High comfort level working in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments

• Outstanding work ethic; displays a high sense of urgency to resolve issues quickly and efficiently

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
Requires the ability to respond quickly and accurately to urgent requests for support on weekends, early mornings and evenings, during the new store opening process.
