GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Engineer II (Windows Systems) is an experienced IT professional who demonstrates expertise with Windows Systems Engineering, Virtualization platforms and IT infrastructure.

The role assumes responsibility for Windows Server and Virtualization Infrastructure, design, and engineering. Moreover, the role participates in enterprise-wide projects and ensures stability, scalability, and security of the solutions and its interoperability with existing infrastructure.

The base salary range for this role is $109,900 - $187,450. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform analysis, design, testing and deployment of Windows Server and Virtual Machine Infrastructure.

• Perform server hardware deployment and administration including rack mount servers, blades and blade chassis infrastructure.

• Apply advanced knowledge of PowerShell scripting capability with an understanding of cloud scripting.

• Execute Tier 3 level troubleshooting and diagnose complex infrastructure issues.

• Design and develop standards and roadmaps; effectively communicate and obtain consensus across architecture, engineering, and operations teams

• Independently manage and perform engineering role for Windows infrastructure initiatives and projects

• Perform various functions and duties in support of audit and compliance deliverables

• Develop detailed technical design and implementation documentation

• Analyze current Windows Security Baseline deployments to identify both technical and operational challenges while making recommendations and developing solutions for improvement

• Participate in or lead complex or high severity troubleshooting and incident/problem resolutions with other infrastructure teams

• Translate business needs into workable solutions that meet the requirements of enterprise customers and Operations teams.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree preferred in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• 7-10 years of experience in Windows system design, implementation, and 3rd level production support activities

• Candidate must have minimum of 5 years of Windows Server engineering and virtualization experience. Candidate should have a good working understanding of IT infrastructure building blocks including: Server hardware, Operating System, Clustering, database, storage, backup, monitoring, network, load balancer, firewall.

• Strong technical and hands on experience with Windows Server Technology(Windows 2019, 2022, and 2025 Servers), Hyper-V and ESX virtualization, Windows Clustering, Domain Controllers (Active Directory), LDAP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, networks, DMZs, network security zones

• Experience and confidence to be the subject matter expert (SME) Senior Windows System Engineer in a large Windows server environments with the proven ability to coordinate technical efforts and resolve issues across multiple teams.

• Strong technical and hands on experience with Server hardware including rack mount servers, blades and blade chassis infrastructure.

• Experience working on on-prem and cloud infrastructure platforms

• Excellent writing and communication skills, including proven experience effectively communicating technical challenges and solutions to peers, customers, and senior management.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills

• Demonstrate Effective leadership and analytical skills. Identify opportunities to streamline repetitive processes and introduce efficiencies in the delivery of technology infrastructure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with HPE Hardware (Synergy blades/chassis, HCI etc.)

• Experience working with Hyperconverged Infrastructure and Azure cloud.

• Microsoft and/or networking certifications.

• Experience with SQL server deployments

• Working knowledge of LDAP, Certificate/CA/PKI infrastructure

• Experience and knowledge of 3rd party management and monitoring solutions (SCCM, SCOM, Dynatrace, HP OneView and others)

• Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, hands on configuration and support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
