GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Applications Analyst role focuses on developing and supporting data ingestion workflows using StreamSets and related technologies. It involves assisting in building and maintaining data pipelines, writing Python scripts for basic data processing tasks, and supporting integration with various data sources. This role requires foundational knowledge of cloud platforms, operating systems, and data integration concepts. It also includes monitoring production systems, resolving issues under guidance, and adhering to established development and deployment processes. Additionally, the Application Analyst collaborates with senior team members to learn best practices and contribute to ongoing system improvements.

The base salary range for this role is $81,000 - $136,150. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assist in development and maintenance of data ingestion pipelines using StreamSets or similar tools.

• Write and support Python scripts for basic data processing, integration, and validation tasks.

• Monitor data pipelines and production systems, identify issues, and escalate as needed for resolution.

• Support implementation of data ingestion solutions within cloud and data lake environments.

• Collaborate with team members to follow established development, testing, and deployment processes.

• Perform routine system checks, ensure adherence to operational procedures, and support documentation updates.

• Learn and apply best practices in data integration, security, and system performance optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• At least 3-5 years of experience working with StreamSets or similar technologies with exposure to building and supporting basic data ingestion workflows and applying common data integration patterns.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Basic hands-on experience with StreamSets or similar data ingestion tools is preferred.

• Working knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data processing tasks.

• Understanding data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV, and basic ETL concepts.

• Foundational knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and data integration concepts.

• Familiarity with Linux/Windows operating systems and basic networking principles.

• Awareness of security concepts such as authentication, SSL, and data protection practices.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues, monitor systems, and escalate problems appropriately.

• Strong willingness to learn, collaborate with teams, and follow best practices in development and operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
