Responsible for developing store plans for Remodels and Special Projects based on merchandising strategies, store operation requirements and applicable building codes. Designing stores includes travel to execute site surveys and walk throughs.

The base salary range for this role is $64,500 - $91,850. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.


• Creation of all contract documents needed to execute a "store project". These documents include fixture plans, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, merchandise plans, and any other documents that help to describe the intent of our store design. A Store Project includes Remodels, Refresh, Special Projects, Register ads and Ops Executive projects. These documents will be used to purchase, bid and execute a project

• Evaluation of proposed retail environments for operational compliance to include but not limited to stock and merchandise handling, loss prevention and store operations

• Maintain a current, accurate and up-to-date project file. Both drawings and all correspondence

• Work in conjunction with construction and other Ross departments in all phases of the project from inception to completion

• Visit sites as required, to ascertain all field conditions that will impact the architectural design phase

• Conducts field inspections of interior finishes as required, to verify compliance to Ross retail specifications

• Responsible for keeping current on computer network system and related peripherals

• Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design or related field; or equivalent experience in space planning

• Proficient in AutoCAD

• 2 years of practical space planning experience

• Ability to utilize data to drive space planning decisions

• Gather, summarize, prepare and analyze store specific unit data

• Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams


This position requires the ability to work in an office environment, including using a computer, attending meetings, working as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with team members and others. Regular attendance also is a requirement of the position.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, mentoring, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
