Sr. Project Specialist


GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Senior Project Specialist will work cross functionally with Ross associates and external resources to drive strategic initiatives for the HR organization. The individual in this role will analyze and interpret data to support specific programs as well as the broader project management organization (PMO). The Senior Project Specialist will report to the Manager, HR Initiatives

The Senior Project Specialist will compile reports, analyze and synthesize data to communicate key program metrics to stakeholders across business groups at Ross. This individual will contribute to the design and implementation of PMO tools and processes. The Senior Project Specialist will also analyze and interpret data to support the annual and 5 year planning processes and roadmap.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONs:

HR PMO Governance
Develop and administer tools which clearly and concisely document project scopes, timing, resource impacts, and budgets.
Collaborate cross functionally to analyze data on internal resource impacts
Develop and administer reporting to provide Leadership Team with visibility to project portfolio, update stakeholders on project status, and escalate issues requiring leadership attention.
Create and maintain PMO tools and process documentation.
Train and support team on PMO tools and processes.
Leverage technology to deliver the right information to the customer in a timely fashion. This would include creating dashboards and dynamic reporting.
Project Support
Provide project support and/or management for projects. This includes, but is not limited to: creation and implementation of project plans, status reports, communication plans, issue logs, and action item logs.
Analyze project data to ensure accurate assumptions and results.
Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate issues during project.
Partner with project stakeholders to prepare, analyze, and communicate reports to identified audiences.
Support the documentation of project findings and recommendations, either by creating documents or by reviewing and validating vendor documents.
Manage any ad hoc analysis requests related to project and project data.•
Planning
Perform analysis of project data to support annual budgeting, 5-year planning, and strategic Roadmap planning efforts.
Coordinate with HR, Finance, IT, and Stores budget teams to ensure that cross-functional project budgets, annual department budgets and departmental 5 year plans accurately reflect the impact of project.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree required with demonstrated superior college performance (preferably in an analytical or business field)
Prefer 2-3 years post college experience (preferably in consulting or financial analysis)
Analytical ability – must be able to synthesize data, be able to error check and reconcile own work and be able to design analysis to answer specific questions
A detail oriented approach – must pay close attention to the details and have the drive to get things right
Strong organizational skills
Ability to cope with pressure and changing priorities
Trustworthy with confidential information
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment
Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills, as well as ability to learn multiple new back end software applications (e.g., MicroStrategy)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
