Sr. Analyst, Allocation Planning

GENERAL PURPOSE:
Ross Stores, Inc. is the fast-growing off-price retailer that can't be missed. We're delivering the best branded bargains to our customers across the nation, the District of Colombia and Guam. You will be a part of making that happen. The Rack Plan Achievement team is looking for a dynamic and strategic thinker to join a growing team that will establish how inventory is managed at lower product levels. Our goal is to improve inventory positioning each month for lower product levels, Region and Top Stores. We will define best practices for new processes, tools, and reporting to drive this detailed effort. As with any start-up, team responsibilities will evolve and grow as we learn and respond to changing business needs.

As a Sr. Planner within the Rack Plan Achievement team you will drive team evolution while working on projects and analytics to support allocation strategies. The Sr. Planner will play a critical role in shaping the new Plan Achievement responsibilities and lead initiatives. Key responsibilities will include researching store callouts, analyzing lower product level performance, providing insights, and recommend actions needed to improve inventory. The Sr. Planner will also work closely with the Corporate Plan Achievement team as well as Allocation and NY Planning teams. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently to provide sound analytics, with a comfort for communicating conclusions and recommendations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Analytics of Inventory Management:

• Provide insight on lower product level performance for regions and top doors and provide solutions to issues impacting inventory levels

• Perform ad hoc analysis and provide innovative solutions to support global business initiatives, that could eventually be adopted as standard process and tools

• Collaborate with Corporate Plan Achievement team to resolve issues that address inventory level issues

• Build tools needed to evaluate performance and track patterns over time
Communication:

• Drive timely and effective communication with multiple business partners (Assortment Management, NY Planning, Allocation Strategy and Operations, etc.) to inform/ recommend allocation strategies and results

• Develop compelling materials in PowerPoint and provide business insights on strategies to senior business partners

• Communicate conclusions and recommendations in a clear, straight forward, and concise format to diverse audiences
Leadership:

• Point person in Manager's absence

• Primary business mentor for Associate Analyst

• Representative for business team on cross functional departmental initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related analytical fields.
3-5 years of experience related work experience in Planning and/or Allocation, forecasting in a retail environment.
Ability to solve problems through analyzing large, data sets; develop/utilize analytical tools and summarize findings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group - executives, managers, and subject matter experts within and outside of the Allocation team.
Advanced MS Excel skills including formulas and data sorting.
Working knowledge of databases: RDW, ACE, a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
