Sr. Analyst, Best Practices

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This role will act as a Store Operations partner to define and modify company best practices through effective project management, sound analysis, and consensus building with Executives. They will coordinate with key business partners to prioritize, test, and implement improvements to best practices or technologies. A key component of this role is having an understanding of Store Operations policies and procedures, working directly with stores/field leaders for feedback, and maintaining close relationships with field management.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perform comprehensive data analysis:
  • Design and conduct financial and operational analysis to identify process improvement opportunities as well as track pilot performance
  • Design (with guidance) and complete ad hoc analysis as requested
Identify, Test, and Implement Process Improvements:
  • Identify industry best practices and competitor practices, and to improve store efficiency and execution at both Ross and dd’s
  • Prepare and present clear, fact-based presentations to illustrate findings to Executive-level audiences and gain credibility based upon recommendations
  • Support cross-functional teams comprised of Analysts, Managers and Directors from Store Initiatives, Store Strategy and Method Improvements and the field to implement pilots and chain-wide initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Partner with Store Communications to develop appropriate communication and training to educate field operators on best practices and process modifications to ensure success

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in an analytical field)
  • Strong candidates will have a minimum of 5 years post college experience, preferably with a top-tier consulting firm or retailer
  • Outstanding analytical ability - must have a data driven approach to solving problems. Requires very strong quantitative skills, a good sense of how to dissect problems and a strong ability to “connect the dots” – e.g. understand how pieces of data interact with each other or how one finding should inform the result of another analysis
  • A detail-oriented approach: Must pay very close attention to details and have the drive to get things right
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint – proficiency of Excel and PowerPoint required
  • High comfort level working in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High degree of reliability including accountability for daily, weekly, and long-term projects
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
