Sr. Analyst, Allocation Planning

The Sr. Plan Achievement Analyst will own a diverse range of assignments, projects and analytics to support preseason and in-season allocation strategies and initiatives for multiple Regions. The Sr. Analyst will take a proactive approach to ensuring allocations support plans and inventory projections, working closely with NY Planning when needed. He/She will independently translate strategic allocation goals into recommendations for gaining consensus with leadership internal to the Allocation team, as well as external business partners. Responsibilities also include identifying special allocation strategies needed to effectively manage seasonal categories and peak business periods. He/She will deliver weekly reporting to provide visibility of current performance and trends. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to work independently to provide sound analytics, with a comfort for drawing and communicating conclusions and recommendations.


Analytics of Inventory and Receipt Management

• Perform all necessary allocation activities to support inventory plans through use of Trend and Curves as well as exception management at the division level.

• Monitor region, store and division inventory position in relation to sales trends, with future opportunity to analyze at lower hierarchy levels.

• Manage other key activities including, seasonal transition, flow cut offs, and shrink adjustments.

• Evaluate the impact and quality of Assortment strategies: Force Mins, Class Restrictions and PLR's on Need Calc and identify opportunities for improvements.

• Work with the NY Planning team for Inventory Plan and receipt management to ensure receipt strategy changes are executed when needed.

• Build tools needed to evaluate performance and project forward looking trends.

• Perform ad hoc analysis as needed.

• Drive timely and effective communication with business partners (e.g., Assortment Management, Total and Regional Store Planning, Allocation Strategy and Operations, etc.) to inform/recommend allocation strategies and results.

• Provide weekly communication Allocation leadership of results and inventory opportunities/risks providing recommended action needed to support changing trends.

• Develop compelling materials in Powerpoint and provide business insights on allocation goals and strategies to senior business partners.

• Communicate conclusions and recommendations in a clear, straight forward, and concise format to diverse audiences.

3-5 years of experience related work experience in Planning and/or Allocation, forecasting in a retail environment.
Ability to solve problems through analyzing large, data sets; develop/utilize analytical tools and summarize findings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group - executives, managers, and subject matter experts within and outside of the Allocation team.
Advanced MS Excel skills including formulas and data sorting.
Working knowledge of databases: RDW, ACE, a plus


Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.

This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
