Senior Specialist, Store Presentation Communication

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This role is responsible for collaborating with the New York Buying Office (NYBO) to establish merchandising direction and presentation standards across Ross/dd's Stores. The Senior Specialist, Store Presentation will be responsible for all cross-functional activities, including developing timelines, building communication, and partnering with Corporate Partners & Field Leaders to implement Store Presentation strategies & initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for gathering information to develop communication that translates complex concepts into clear and easy to understand communication with effective layout and design, language, and tone for the intended audience.

• Develops documents for socialization and execution of merchandising presentation strategies and initiatives with NYBO, cross-functional business partners, and Senior Leaders. This includes, but is not limited to, monthly, quarterly and annual communications, floor sets, merchandise flows, fixture sets, fixture rollouts, partnering with the Signage team on sign placement/needs and merchandising initiatives.

• Acts as a point of contact to respond to all merchandising related questions from Store Teams.

• Effectively creates and uses timelines to manage tasks and assignments to ensure deadlines are met on a timely basis consistently.

• Collaborates with cross-functional partners when developing communication timelines to ensure accuracy and maximum efficiency of time and resources.

• Looks for opportunities to improve existing processes maximize efficiency and time.

• Can change direction mid-stream when needed to accomplish goals.

• Manages expense budgets, monthly forecasts, and secures funding as needed to support new initiatives.

• Regularly visits Stores and competitors seeking industry best practices as well as keeping up to date with industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• BA/BS in related field preferred.

• 4+ years of retail experience or corporate experience including executing and completing project management in Store Operations

• Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, In Design, Photoshop)

• Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently with minimal direction

• Capable of analyzing, creating and executing merchandising plans

• High comfort level working in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments and ability to manage multiple merchandising projects simultaneously

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to stores in local and non-local markets as needed
