Senior Director, IT and Supply Chain Sourcing and Procurement

The IT and Supply Chain Sourcing and Procurement Sr. Director will lead strategic IT and Supply Chain sourcing projects to help Ross procure the best services and products at the most competitive cost. This person will be responsible for leading IT and Supply Chain strategic sourcing projects, including process steps such as vendor research, category/market research, market index analysis, data analysis, baseline development, RFP development, bid management, negotiations, offer analysis and scenario development. This role will also be involved in post-bid management, which includes activities such as supplier on-boarding, spend analysis and vendor management. They will manage multiple projects at a time, as well as support ad-hoc IT and Supply Chain sourcing inquiries.

Strong project management and communication skills are key in this role as this person will be interacting with many Ross associates, departments, and vendors to facilitate cross-functional IT and Supply Chain Sourcing activities and support large-scale categories for Ross (i.e. software, hardware, professional services, conveyors, controls, distribution center material handling equipment).

Drive IT and Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing and RFP Process Execution
  • Collaborate with IT and Supply Chain stakeholders to determine strategy and timing for vendor selection decisions for major projects
  • Conduct detailed market and vendor research
  • Develop and manage IT and Supply Chain RFPs with minimal support, start-to-finish (to include market research, RFP development, creation of complex bidding spreadsheets, and management of communications and stakeholder involvement, etc.)
  • Evaluate vendor bid responses (quantitatively and qualitatively)
  • Facilitate the development of award scenarios and recommendations for stakeholder evaluation, consideration and decision-making
  • Identify broader cost reduction opportunities

Contract Development and Management
  • Assist in developing and vetting internal capital expenditure request ('CER') documentation
  • Lead the vendor contracting process (drafting, redlining, signature process)
  • Review contracts and spend to assess potential sourcing opportunities
  • Provide guidance on contract term negotiations through collaborative approach with stakeholders

Assists in Procurement and Finance-Related Initiatives
  • Partner with the cross-functional leaders to create project roadmaps and savings tracking documents
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations for internal stakeholder communications / updates, also review other team members' deliverables.

  • BA/BS in IT, Business/Economics, Computer Science/Mathematics or Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years strategic sourcing/finance experience across multiple categories.
  • Consulting experience preferred; experience in retail is a plus.
  • Contract writing and management experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Must have a data driven approach to solving problems.
  • Requires very strong quantitative skills and a good sense of how to dissect problems.
  • Must pay very close attention to details and possess the drive to get things right with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work independently and keep a high level of focus.
  • Must be able to listen, understand, and communicate with employees at all levels of the company.
  • Needs to be able to build effective working relationships within Ross, especially across executive leadership.

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
