About this job:

The Corporate Planning Senior Analyst performs strategic analysis, reporting and hind sighting responsibilities for Ross and dd’s. Provides planning and budgeting support to Senior Planning leadership. Manages critical early warnings. Partners with cross functional teams such as DCs, IT, Finance, and Allocation to help to ensure that we achieve total company goals.


Planning/Budget Support

  • Develops 5 year plan and budget incorporating holiday shifts, trend, weather, strategies
  • Develops seasonal targets for sales and margin metrics. Goals will be based on historical information, current strategy and trend
  • Develops weekly and month corporate plans based on trend and budget
  • Collaborates with the Corporate team on markdowns


Functions as Corporate Planning Liaison

  • Communicates and collaborates with cross functional teams including the Merchants, Planning, Finance, Allocation, DC, Store Ops, and Merchandise Ops organizations
  • Acts as Corporate Planning liaison with IT and Business Process. Works with Business Process to ensure that the assortment planning calendar supports key corporate deliverables and meetings
  • Produce weekly and monthly business reports, calling out risks and opportunities to executive leadership
  • Responsible for scheduled and ad hoc reporting requests including preparation for board meetings. Communication should include observations/action plans, risks and opportunities
  • Publishes early warning signs report and communicates information to Senior Management


Staff Development

  • Trains and coaches analysts/associate analysts


Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and conceptual ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • System savvy, knowledge of Arthur Planning
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel/Power Point)
  • 5 years retail merchandising experience involving sales and inventory planning, forecasting, and open to buy control
  • 1-2 years management experience
  • 4-year college degree required
