Senior Analyst, Crisis Response

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Ross Investigative and Safety Center (RISC) is located at our Dublin, CA Corporate Campus and operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.

The RISC is a Global Security Operations and Communications Center that operates as the central point of intelligence, threat analysis/response and crisis communications for the company. We monitor, analyze, response and communicate global threats, natural disasters, travel safety, and operational security developments that may affect the operations of Ross Stores, Inc.

ROLE

A Sr. Analyst is responsible for establishing expertise, tracking and analyzing intelligence to identify emerging threats domestically and internationally. Then, contextualizing those threats specific to company sites and employees, informing company stakeholders and developing a subsequent process to address the risks identified, while serving as the subject matter expert. They are the primary escalation point and will make sound, and in the moment decisions in response to complex and highly visible situations.

The scope of responsibility will include supervising analysts that are responsible for assessing and responding to geopolitical and reputational risk, terrorism, social and political activism, crime and fraud, political stability, economic uncertainty, cultural and societal trends and risks.

Sr. Analysts are responsible for developing, socializing and implementing processes within the RISC from inception though roll-out. Post process roll-out, the Sr. Analyst will be responsible for the continued maintenance, growth and leading all efforts of the process, to include training and development of analysts and contractors.

In addition, you will be responsible for some of the concentrations below.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONs:

• Social Media & Communications Channel Monitoring with Regards to Potential Threats

• Weather Monitoring/Support & Crisis Management Team (CMT) Process

• Safe Traveler Support; Monitoring Domestic and International Threats/Potential Traveler Safety/Impact

• Technology Platforms and Systems

Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment

• Build best practices and processes to support emerging risks and threats, train Analysts on processes, implement and oversee efforts.

• Responsible for independently assessing and proactively identifying threats and risks to sites, employees and travelers.

• Produce comprehensive intelligence assessments and updates on rapidly developing situations. Manage information updates and insights from a network of professional contacts on issues that may affect sites or employees.

• Think critically, respond with urgency, and persuasively while developing content, and communication. Reviews, edits, and improves content developed by Analyst team for all communications that are distributed to field and business partners

• Effectively executes the Crisis Management Program

• Maintains content ownership for each targeted audience in all communications to support and model the Ross and dd's values

Developing Great Teams & Partnerships

• Identify and participate in relevant industry and government associations related to primary areas of responsibility. Sr. Analysts will develop, manage, and productively utilize external networks to enhance the Global Intelligence mission and to gain access to critical intelligence insights

• Develops strong relationships with field partners and leverages those relationships to ensure communications are high impact, accurate, and relevant

• Proactively seeks feedback to improve communications by collaborating with peers and leadership

• Provides recommendations based on predictive intelligence and historical data to senior leadership

• Works cross-functionally with various business partner teams; acts as a liaison between field and corporate departments

• Hold business partners accountable for providing appropriate updates and adhering to processes during large scale crisis events

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

• BA degree is preferred, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Finance, or Business

• Master's Degree in International Relations, Political Science, Global Security Studies, National Security, or Intelligence Training a plus

• 4+ years of relevant work experience preferred

• Proficiency in and knowledge of computer software including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

• Possess strong oral communication and presentation skills, with extensive experience briefing Sr. Leadership.

• Ability to interact professionally and effectively present information to all levels within the team and organization

• Enthusiastic, positive, creative, self-motivated, open to feedback

• Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to solve problems

• Must demonstrate the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities

• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented

• Maintains confidentiality concerning all information and projects

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires full-time in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
