Senior Analyst, Allocation Management

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Sr. Assortment Analyst is a direct link to the bi-coastal Merchant and Planning Organization. The Sr. Assortment Analyst initiates and drives projects, presenting recommendations that result in optimized product selection for the customer. The Sr. Assortment Analyst drives complex analytics across the team to identify and address trends. The Sr. Assortment Analyst will be the primary business representative in cross-functional projects, both internal and external.

The Sr. Analyst plays an integral role in development of team Analysts (Associate or Assortment Analyst). Additionally, the Sr. Assortment Analyst will support the Associate Analyst by managing the automation strategies for their business area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assortment Strategy Analysis

• Collaborate with Merchant partners on business opportunities that result in an optimal inventory mix, improving the customer experience

• Guide and inform Merchant partners on impacts of various allocation approaches/results

• Provide innovative solutions to support business needs through complex analytics

• Lead field visits to assess allocation results and identify assortment opportunities

Leadership

• Point person in Manager's absence

• Primary business mentor for Assortment Analyst

• Representative for business team on cross functional departmental initiatives

Inventory Plan Analysis

• Collaborate with Planning partners to resolve issues that address plan achievement

• Monitor business team's new store build activities; provide status reports to manager on progress/callouts

• Provide solutions to issues impacting inventory levels

Operational Administration

• Ensure all processes and systems updates are completed on schedule across the business team

• Validate automated allocation approaches match the conceptual assortment vision

• Ensure allocation tools are current and accurate across the business team

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

College degree preferred
2 - 3+ year work experience preferred
2 - 3+ year Assortment Management Analyst experience or comparable experience preferred
Outlook, Word & PowerPoint knowledge required (or equivalent application suite)
Advanced Excel

• Advanced Excel Function - Pivot Tables, SumProduct, If Error, H-lookup, arrays, etc.

• Complex Retail Math Calculation
Retail software experience preferred (JDA, SAP/Oracle or others)
Supervisory experience is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
