About this job:

Sample Support Manager is responsible for managing 2 – 4 Sample Support Supervisors. Sample Support Manager is the liaison to GMMs, responsible for understanding their needs and partnering with the Sample Support Supervisors to ensure the team can meet these needs. Individual needs to be skilled at communication and developing relationships. Responsible for maintaining high standards, consistency, accuracy and timely work in Sample support, and staying proficient in sample systems to be an ongoing resource for the Sample Support team.


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the human resources management of 2–4 Sample Support Supervisors, who oversee sample management for the Buyers. Proactively manages Merchant expectations; sets high performance standards, holds Supervisors to agreed-upon deadlines and provides feedback.
  • Meets with Merchant Support Director and interfaces with Merchant counterparts to understand improvement opportunities and best practices across the entire organization. Understands the nuances between Divisions that require special attention and alternate solutions. Creates and reviews operational reports to understand when the service is working well and when changes may be required. Helps implement improvements across the entire Sample Support organization. Partners with Technical Services to implement Sample review requirements for organization.
  • Must maintain strong knowledge and proficiency in all sample systems and standard forms and reports. Compiles and analyzes metrics on vendor performance and sample issues while regularly monitoring vendor and sample issue rates. Makes recommendations on sampling guidelines and process improvements.
  • Responsible for hiring and on-boarding of Supervisors, Sample Coordinators and Sample Administrators. Assists the Director with managing the overall headcount of the group and provides recommendations on where efficiencies can be gained. Maintains a proactive approach to attrition management and understands how to quickly address turnover.


Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-7 years work experience
  • Process oriented and prior experience implementing and maintaining strict process guidelines preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of merchandising systems, or ability to master them quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to lead subordinates
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and PC skills, with an emphasis on spreadsheet applications
  • Experience creating budgets and managing expenses in accordance
