This position is a support role for the Merchandising organization, primarily responsible for prioritizing purchase order entry, edits and markdowns. This position will be aligned to a specific group of Buyers. In addition to reallocating work across the MSA team as needed, the Coordinator is also responsible for entering the work for any Buyer in the Division.


  • Ensure daily workload (entry, edits, MD’s) is manageable for self and support team, notify manager if unable to meet deadlines or can assist others
  • Translate merchant buy sheets & CADs as needed to support accurate entry
  • Work with Merchants to gain and maintain understanding of specified business area, including key vendors, UDAs, any business shifts and update Buyer Guide
  • Conduct QA on critical fields, notify Manager of errors found
  • Utilize PO tracker and communicate end of day status of POs to Merchants and Supervisor/Manager
  • Notify Supervisor/Manager of any merchant issues or new requests (e.g. missing info, deadlines)
  • Complete all daily assignments in a timely manner, escalate if unclear or unable to meet deadlines
  • Maintain a professional demeanor when working and communicating with others
  • Maintain and adheres to Ross time and attendance policies and reports to work as scheduled and on time
  • As needed, enter POs and edits, ensure accuracy with self QA

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required
  • Two years minimum work experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel, preferred
  • Must be a team player, exhibiting good communication skills and flexibility
  • Strong organizational skills a priority
  • Thorough knowledge of merchandising systems, or ability to master them quickly.
  • Consistent timeliness and regular attendance 
  • Ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer
  • Requires sitting for an extended period of time
  • Requires regular talking and hearing, attending in-person meetings, typing and working with office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing/storage cabinets, fax machines, etc.
  • Requires occasional standing, walking, squatting, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 10 lbs.
