Manager, Learning & Development

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Manager of Learning and Organization Development for Ross Stores, Inc. will help identify, develop, implement, and evaluate key learning and development initiatives across multiple business units using various learning platforms. The ideal candidate will be able to partner with the department’s Director and other HR team members to build a world class Learning and Organization Development team that offers custom and off the shelf learning and development solutions.

Core skills and experience:
Exceptional multi-platform facilitation skills required.
Subject matter expertise: instructional design and/or adult learning theory, eLearn development, leadership and management practices, communication theory, or other related topics.
Experience in learning program design, implementation, and management.
Proven track record in building collaborative partnerships within the business and HR.
Experience managing or leveraging Learning Management Systems preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: % OF TIME

Content Development: Design multi-platform content to support targeted employee development efforts using best practices in adult learning theory and instructional design. 40
Facilitation: Deliver quality training programs through various platforms. 25
Consulting: Partner with HR and business leaders to identify, develop, and implement solutions targeting employee development and overall talent management solutions (engage, grow, and retain). 15
Program and Project Management: Design, develop, implement and manage targeted learning programs and initiatives. 15
Evaluation: Assess overall impact and effectiveness of learning programs. 5

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced degree in Organization Development, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, or a related field preferred.
Special consideration to eLearn development skills in Java, Flash, and or quick authoring tools like Brainshark or Captivate.
Special consideration to certifications in Executive Coaching, Competency Suites, 360 feedback tools, MBTI, Emotional Intelligence assessments, or other psychometric tools.
Proven track record with at least 5 years of experience in training or client facing roles.
