About this job:

The Manager of Corporate Planning performs strategic analysis, reporting and hind sighting responsibilities for Ross and dd’s. Provide planning and budgeting support to Senior Planning leadership. Manage critical early warnings. Partner with cross functional teams such as DCs, IT, Finance, and Allocation to help to ensure that we achieve total company goals.


Planning/Budget Support:

  • Develop 5 year plan and budget incorporating holiday shifts, trend, weather, strategies

  • Develop seasonal targets for sales and margin metrics. Goals will be based on historical information, current strategy and trend

  • Develop weekly and month corporate plans based on trend and budget

  • Work with direct reports on daily sales planning

  • Collaborate with the Corporate team on markdowns. Help to manage file markdowns

  • Manage seasonal shrink process. Collaborate with planning teams

Function as Corporate Planning Liaison:

  • Communicate and collaborate with cross functional teams including the Merchant, Planning, Finance, Allocation, DC, Store Ops, and Merchandise Ops organizations
  • Act as Corporate Planning liaison with IT and Business Process. Work with Business Process to ensure that the assortment planning calendar supports key corporate deliverables and meetings
  • Reporting
  • Responsible for scheduled and ad hoc reporting requests including preparation for board meetings. Communication should include observations/action plans, risks and opportunities
  • Responsible for the Corporate stock analysis, in-store model
  • Publish early warning signs report and communicate information to Senior Management
  • Staff Development
  • Train and coach analysts/associate analysts 

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and conceptual ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • System savvy, knowledge of Arthur Planning
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel/Power Point)
  • 5 years retail merchandising experience involving sales and inventory planning, forecasting, and open to buy control
  • 3 years supervisory experience
