IT Manager II, Supply Chain Infrastructure

The IT Infrastructure Manager - II is responsible to provide hands-on technical management, guidance and ultimately be responsible for developing quality Infrastructure solutions for new distribution centers, offsite storage facilities, and cross dock locations. The solutions include, but are not limited to, building out server rooms, implementing the wired and wireless network solutions, deploying security solutions, and deploying end user devices. This position will interface directly with key business units, vendors and other IT groups as required.


• Knowledge of & hands on experience:
o developing and implementing server room standards and equipment
o Managing the procurement and deployment of server technologies including operating systems, physical & virtual servers, storage & backups and disaster recovery
o Managing the deployment of equipment that handles switching, routing, and perimeter devices (firewalls)
o Managing the deployment of fiber optic and copper cabling
o developing and implementing wireless standards and solutions
o Managing the procurement and deployment of end user devices

• Managing strong vendor partnerships in the infrastructure area. This function includes:
o Negotiating and managing contracts
o Negotiating access agreements
o Establishing service level agreements (SLAs)

• Managing budgets, teams & implementation plans

• At least 8 to 10 years of IT experience within a Fortune 500 or similar IT environment

• Strong technical background and hands-on experience building Infrastructure solutions

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Demonstrated history of engaging internal customers, including listening, influencing, translating technical details into understandable concepts and building consensus.

• Undergraduate degree in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline.

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, travel to offsite locations, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
