The IT Manager I is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of enterprise database and unix computing solutions and to address current and future business needs. Responsible for managing and coordinating systems projects, and production support related activities. Coordinates the efforts of internal and external staff, and of key business partners in the execution of new system projects and in support of existing production systems. Serves as a functional and/or technical expert in one or more disciplines.


• With business or IT partner support, manages competing demands through negotiation and compromise to ensure that the holistic needs of the organization are met. Brings knowledge of industry best practices and applies that information in discussing solutions that may address those needs. Provides visibility to existing technology standards and practices across infrastructure portfolios.

• Manages and develops a cohesive team of Database and Unix technical experts, and key IT partners. Leads efforts in the support of existing systems, processes, services, and / or in the execution of new projects insuring that:
o Requirements are accurately defined
o Systems/Infrastructure are designed and installed that meet the defined requirements and operate efficiently.
o All required user, system and support documentation is created accurately
o Projects are completed on time, on budget and anticipated benefits are achieved.

• Manages available capacity of compute and storage infrastructure to meet current and future requirements.
o Manages the purchase of infrastructure hardware, according to requirements and budget.

• Manages vendor support contracts ensuring infrastructure is supported in a cost-effective manner.

• Evaluates technical designs, developing alternatives, and recommending appropriate solutions

• Identifies new methods and tools to improve system performance and stability

• Manages third level support of production issues when required.

• 4+ years of working experience managing projects or staff focused on delivering Oracle database solutions in a large scale, distributed enterprise.

• A solid understanding of database industry technology, standards and best practices

• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and handle complex issues and break down barriers to resolve conflicts and find solutions

• Demonstrated project management experience

• Ability to identify IT computing hardware issues and leverage both internal/external resources to drive resolution.

• Demonstrated ability to execute basic financial analysis and manage budgets

• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
