IT Engineer II (Enterprise Tools)


The Enterprise Tools Engineer provides the technical delivery consulting role in the Infrastructure and Application Delivery lifecycles from installation, integration, maintenance, currency and upgrades management tool applications across the enterprise. The Enterprise Tools Engineer defines and follows discreet procedures and protocols to ensure systems integrity, and compliance, and monitors system utilization, user functions, and performance metrics as required.

The Enterprise Tools Engineer analyzes project requirements and solution designs to assure that systems are functionally appropriate, technically valid, and well integrated in accordance with the business user requirements, methods and standards throughout the project life cycle.

The Enterprise Tools Engineer works in the areas of: Development, Infrastructure, and Application Support and will also serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Enterprise Management tools. The Enterprise Tools Engineer works with External Service Providers and Application Support teams during the Development, QA, and production release cycles. The Tools Engineer is involved in requirements coordination, review and tracking of change requests, defect assessment, system configuration. The Tools Engineer is also involved in knowledge transfer and systems solution support during the warranty period and coordination, 3rd level production infrastructure support, priority management and implementation of break-fix, maintenance and change requests. Responsibilities may also include research and review of technical solution alternatives and proposals for systems solutions.


Research, evaluate, develop and implement Enterprise Tools Engineering designs and standards following industry best practices.
Ensure that current and planned technical solutions are compatible with the company's business needs and strategic objectives.
Work with the other IT organizations to design, develop, and implement Enterprise Systems in support of development, test, and production environments.
Provide technical expertise and assistance to other IT and Business groups.

Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
7-10 years of experience in Enterprise Tools system design, implementation, and 3rd level support activities.
Extensive experience administering systems using management tools such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager or CA Unified Infrastructure Management.
Extensive experience using and administering platform specific management tools such as Oracle Cloud Control, Dell OpenManage, or H.P. Insight Manager / HP OneView.
Strong understanding of networking principles and topologies.
Experience with enterprise job scheduling tools such as Control-M.
Experience configuring and SNMP based management solutions.
Experience with Group Policy, PowerShell and/or other scripting tools.
Experience packaging and deploying applications for desktops and servers.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Good communication skills are essential.
Able to work independently and creatively solve complex technical problems.
Able to provide leadership, guidance and training to others.
Able to provide accurate estimates of time frames and cost estimates necessary to complete potential projects and develop milestones and project implementation plans.
Experience administering UNIX systems.
