GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for developing a variety of internal communication for the Allocation Department. They will utilize the department intranet and email as the main vehicles to deliver key messaging that engages and informs. A primary focus for this position will be to create and maintain content within the department intranet (SharePoint), and to help facilitate Department Meetings. The Internal Communications Specialist will work closely with employees and with their Manager to gain insight on the pulse of the department and suggest creative ways to boost employee engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Creates, reviews, edits and improves content for internal departmental communications such as department announcements, meeting presentations, and other action-required items using various communication methods (SharePoint, e-mail, Newsletter, Yammer, presentation documents etc.)

• Collaborates with Office Operations Manager and Executive Admins on the execution of Department Meetings.

• Participates in the development of monthly communication and engagement plans.

• Maintains the department intranet SharePoint site and continuously expands the functionalities.

• Identifies the needs of the audience and crafts messages to their needs and utilizes the appropriate tone and communication channel.

• Acts as a liaison for the Allocation Dept. between the Corporate Social Responsibility team and the IT Office 365 team.

• Special Projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's Degree in communications or related fields preferred
2-3 years of relevant experience in the communication field preferably in corporate retail
Seasoned communications professional with strong business writing and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail
Enthusiastic, creative, self-motivated
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to handle changing priorities and deliver quality results
Demonstrated ability to interact professionally and effectively present information to all levels within the Allocation team and organization
Solid knowledge of creative and innovative visual / graphic design
Experience in web content management (SharePoint a plus)
Advanced skill in Microsoft Office & Microsoft 365, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
