The Initiatives and Change team leads a variety of strategic, cross-functional initiatives for the company. The Manager, Initiatives and Change Management will develop and manage programs and teams to enable the implementation, adoption and sustainability of changes (process, policy, technology, organizational).

Reporting to the Director, Change Management, the individual in this role will evaluate business and stakeholder needs, develop and implement change plans to maximize change adoption, minimize business disruption, and support productivity and performance. This individual will assess the level of change resulting from a variety of company initiatives, create communications and training tools to support associates through the change, and act as a coach and resource for project and functional teams as they undergo change.

The Manager, Initiatives and Change Management will coordinate with program and functional leadership to ensure that change management plans support organization and program objectives. The Initiatives and Change PMO operates as a comprehensive program and change management office and as such the Manager may also assume program management responsibilities for initiatives in addition to change management. The individual in this role must have experience and knowledge of project management lifecycle, methodology and tools and how project and change disciplines integrate. Additionally, this role will support efforts to strengthen individual and organizational change leadership acumen for the company through workshops, coaching and other competency building activities.

The Manager, Initiatives and Change Management will manage direct reports, as well as third party vendors, in building change management capabilities and delivering change management programs to support company initiatives.


• Manage delivery for multiple Change Management initiatives that will include:
  • Assess change impact, training to support the new ways of working and readiness assessments and post implementation reinforcement activities.
  • Create a case for change that defines the envisioned future state and a plan for aligning stakeholders to that vision
  • Lead development and execution of Change Management activities and deliverables to prepare the organization and associates for successful implementation and adoption:
    • Develop governance and sponsorship engagement strategies
    • Conduct assessment of communication needs. Build Communication plan into overall project change plan and track execution. Develop and distribution communications (in partnership with communication teams as appropriate).
    • Conduct training needs assessments and scope training requirements. Build coaching and training plan into overall project change plan, and track plan completion. Develop training collateral and materials. Deliver per the change management plan (partner with Learning and Development teams and vendors as appropriate)
    • Develop and implement adoption and sustainability measurement plans to monitor change effectiveness and program/business outcomes
  • Coordinate the efforts of vendors, internal team members, and impacted stakeholders
  • Identify, escalate, and resolve issues critical to project success
  • Manage, mentor, and lead internal and external Change Management staff as defined in project or team structure

• Partner with the program manager and team to integrate change management activities within the program plan; ensuring status, schedule, risks, dependencies and stakeholders are managed cohesively and holistically

• Act as coach and internal change consultant to project sponsors, leaders, managers and teams; Ability to influence without authority

• Serve as a consultant and subject matter expert for change management initiatives within the organization

• Perform ongoing review of change management strategy, methodology, tools, and measurement approach; work with Leadership on continual improvement of business processes

• Support development of and facilitate change leadership competency building activities for leaders across the company

• Manage, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with external vendor partners

• Contribute to strategic planning, monthly status reporting, budgeting and other assigned special projects as required by position

• Manage the recruitment, retention, and career development of staff, as required.

• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent work experience preferred

• 5-7 years management consulting or project management experience delivering change for large scale projects

• Strong understanding of program and change management methodologies

• Experience consulting with leaders to develop organizational change competencies

• Ability to coach and mentor direct reports to build strong performing and highly engaged team

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

• Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented

• Self-motivated; comfortable working with ambiguity

• Outstanding work ethic; displays a sense of urgency to resolve issues efficiently and to deliver high quality work

• Demonstrated ability to cope with pressure, changing priorities, and a fast-paced environment

• Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning all projects

• Expertise in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), collaboration (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and corporate learning management tools (e.g., Captivate, Brainshark, SumTotal)

• Up to 20% travel may be required
