GENERAL PURPOSE:Freight Pay Auditor will be responsible for auditing all freight bills including domestic and ocean freight as well as other modes. Auditor will be a liaison between Transportation Operations as well as ocean carriers and brokers and other freight carriers on contract and billing matters. Responsible for tracking and reporting billing variances and ensuring timely and accurate payment of all freight bills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Prior to payment, audit ocean and domestic freight invoices to contract and other obtained inputs including but not limited to bills of lading.
• Audit & review broker, customs & DHL invoices to contracts and other inputs.
• Auditor will need to review and audit all Ocean Freight, Broker, and Custom invoices based on contracted rates. Auditor will also review 1% of all Domestic Invoices. This will take place prior to sending to A/P for payment.
• Lead contact to ocean carriers, broker(s), and Transportation Operations.
• Auditor will be the lead contact to all Ocean Carriers and Broker. They will be responsible for handling any invoice discrepancies between the contract and what is billed. They will have to fully understand the ins and outs of how the Ocean contracting system works and the verbiage used by the Ocean carriers. Liaison with Transportation Operations on ocean and other contracts as required.
• Update carrier agings and work to resolve any issues.
• Assist the transportation FP&A team with ad hoc requests as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
• BS/BA preferred (preferably in applicable field).
• 2+ years prior experience in accounts payable auditing required.
• 2+ years prior experience with transportation contracts and billing (including ocean freight) required.
• Proficiency in Excel: ability to write and update complex formulas and present numerical data in visual formats such as charts and pivot tables.
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills; confidence to interact with senior personnel in Transportation and Distribution centers.
• Ability to thoroughly question the information provided by others in a non-adversarial manner.
• Confidentiality concerning all projects.
• Ability to deal effectively with pressure, multiple tasks, deadlines and rapidly changing priorities.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. This position requires the ability to use a computer, work as part of a team, and the ability to communicate with team members and others. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work. #LI-Hybrid
