Associate Analyst, Store Operations

GENERAL PURPOSE:


The Associate Analyst is an integral part of the broader Store Operations team, and is responsible for providing critical project-based support. He/She will be responsible for managing and completing recurring support tasks and updates for key initiatives supporting our Ross and dd's stores. The Associate Analyst will be responsible for organizing and controlling a variety of project activities supporting store hours analysis which determines optimal store operating hours. The Associate Analyst will also pull and summarize data, update systems to support store scheduling and freight forecasting, and will monitor both internal/external social media outlets to solicit store and customer feedback regarding store policies/processes.This position is unique within the Store Operations team, as it provides opportunities to develop broad knowledge of many functions and processes within our stores.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support store operating hours analysis and ad hoc projects:
  • Update store hour backup data used to support our store hour strategy recommendations in C-level meetings, present backup data to insure leadership is prepared for further executive meetings.
  • Responsible for the company store hours master list; ensure all changes from field partners, security exceptions, and unprofitability analyses are captured and up-to-date by setting up feedback loops with stakeholders.
  • Collect competitor operating hours (particularly during key holidays) and validate Ross/dd's stores are operating correct hours. Document findings and partner with appropriate departments/field leaders to correct stores' operating hours, if needed.
  • Support team requests and pull pilot results while conducting basic analysis to determine impact of process changes on store productivity. Summarize findings and make recommendations accordingly (also drawing on context and knowledge of the broader projects that they are supporting).
  • Support store scheduling:
  • Pull information from store data systems to determine stores' performance on key operating metrics. Summarize and communicate results to field leaders.
  • Responsible for collecting and uploading key store data to support the Workforce Management System.
  • Partner with the Store Communications team to develop appropriate communication and training to educate field operators on best practices and process modifications to ensure success.
  • Customer Insights Support and Social Media monitoring:
  • Monitor internal/external social media outlets for store/customer feedback or improvement suggestions, summarize themes, and distribute to the appropriate departments to help improve the customer experience in our stores.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • College degree in relevant field required with demonstrated superior college performance (preferably in an analytical field)
  • Minimum 0 – 2 years of relevant experience
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment and to support multiple workstreams concurrently
  • Comfort and familiarity with PC skills and Microsoft Office– particularly Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • A detail-oriented approach: Must pay very close attention to details and have the drive to get things right
  • Understanding of store operations preferred
  • Retail experience a plus
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations
  • High degree of reliability including accountability for daily, weekly and long-term projects

Requirements: Consistent timeliness and regular attendance. Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. The job also requires sitting, standing, walking, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.

Occasional Requirements: Job occasionally requires bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

May also require occasional driving and/or traveling overnight for business functions or site visits.

Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
