Associate Allocation Analyst

Position Overview


Ross Stores, Inc. is the fast-growing off-price retailer that can’t be missed. We’re taking the off-price retail industry by storm by delivering the best branded bargains to our customers across the nation, the District of Colombia and Guam. You will be a part of making that happen.

Your role will be comprised of two main functions: Ensuring assortment strategies are executed and all store volumes are supported each season. In a typical week you may help resolve inventory challenges through data analytics and problem solving. Your product knowledge will directly impact our customer’s selection of styles, colors, silhouettes and more. Your collaboration with cross functional partners will drive the best products to our stores, and your creative agility will play an integral role in making Ross Stores one of the most successful off-price retailers in the industry.

Responsibilities and Performance Profile

  • Execute the Merchant Vision. Work in collaboration with your manager and the Assortment Management Team to support seasonal strategies, new store builds, business/holiday events, and other specialized allocations to our stores.
  • Leverage Your Excel Skills. Review large amounts of data and analyze reporting to validate plan achievement and assortment execution. Interpret any issues impacting our inventory plans and help develop creative solutions.
  • Continue Learning. Stay willing to learn new soft and technical skills, move seamlessly between projects, and take on new responsibilities to further your growth.
  • Know Your Business. Identify issues impacting breadth of assortment within your business unit, such as Men Shoes or Cosmetics, by participating in store visits, communicating findings, and sharing your recommendations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience conducting data analysis, preferably in retail.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred, but not required.
  • Intermediate skillset in MS Excel.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills to socialize performance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and priority setting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:
  • Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
  • Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
  • Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
