AP Cash Control Supervisor

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Responsible for supervising AP Cash Control group. Ensure operational and accuracy aspects of the AP payments, Supplier Enrichment, and 1099 yearly processes. Maintain a harmonious communication with AP Expense and AP Merchandise vendors, Manager, AP Expense and AP Expense Supervisor, and MDM Team by providing payment information and the problem resolutions in accordance with Ross policies and procedures related to payments and suppliers. Prepare AP Cash Control reporting and productivity dashboard and provide recommendations for improvement. Assist Manager, AP Expense in executing departmental goals

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Develop and evaluate the AP Cash Control team to ensure highest level of productivity and customer service. Provide training and problem resolution.
Prepare the performance appraisals and assist the Manager, AP Expense in identifying the team yearly goals and objectives, monitor productivity and participate in any necessary disciplinary actions.
Assess the daily functions of AP Cash Control for payment accuracy and ensure a fair distribution of the daily work-load among the AP Cash Control team. Review and report the team productivity.
Prepare and distribute the assigned information related to 1099 transactions and BOD 1099 at the year-end. Monitor the escheatment and stale check process for accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor vendors/suppliers on-boarding and changes in MDM (Stibo) system to ensure the new suppliers and changes are added per Ross Policy and Controls. Prepare reports related to the vendors’ onboarding audit track.
Communicate supplier’s onboarding issues/problems with MDM team, Manager, AP Expense and the vendor relations team in APM and APE. Work closely with all related team members for a timely resolution.
Evaluate internal reporting related to AP Cash Control functions and provide recommendations for improvements in efficiency, timeliness, and accuracy.
Play a key role in system’s change and enhancement testing related to the AP Cash Control.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

Minimum of 5 years Accounts Payable cash disbursement background.
Solid understanding of banking / payment management.
Supervisory experience with high volume payment transactions is highly desired.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; Communicates effectively and interacts professionally with co-workers, management and vendors.
Prior experience in a known ERP AP system such as People Soft or Oracle.
4 year degree in a related field (Business/ Finance/ Accounting) is highly desired.
Must possess strong analytical skills along with intermediate to advanced Excel.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA:

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer.
Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc.
Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
