Allocation Analyst

Position Overview

Ross Stores, Inc. is the fast-growing off-price retailer that can’t be missed. We’re taking the off-price retail industry by storm by delivering the best branded bargains to our customers across the nation, the District of Colombia and Guam. You will be a part of making that happen. Your role will be comprised of two main functions: Ensuring assortment strategies are executed and all store volumes are supported each season. In a typical week, you may participate in meetings with merchants and planners in our Buying Offices or help resolve inventory challenges through data analytics and problem solving. Your product knowledge will directly impact our customer's selection of styles, colors, silhouettes and more. In addition, your collaboration with cross functional partners will drive the best products to our stores, and your creative agility will play an integral role in making Ross Stores the most efficient off-price retailer in the industry.


Responsibilities and Performance Profile

  • Support the Merchant Vision. Intuitively understand and drive data analysis to support the execution of buyer assortment strategies. Facilitate the analysis to ensure all store volumes are appropriately inventoried each season.
  • Flex Your Excel Skills. Take large amounts of raw data, consolidate, and create allocation strategies and solutions.
  • Roll with the Punches. Move seamlessly between projects, adapting quickly to sudden changes in priorities.
  • Translate Ideas: You work well cross-functionally and can clearly communicate the points between data and decisions. You’re comfortable presenting your unique ideas to others.
  • Be Creative. Define allocation approaches and assess assortment needs across diverse store demographics, to deliver the right products to the right stores at the right time.
  • Know Your Business. Identify issues impacting breadth of assortment within your business unit, such as Men Shoes or Cosmetics by participating in store visits, communicating findings, and sharing your recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience conducting data analysis, preferably in retail.
  • Associates or Bachelors degree preferred, but not required.
  • Expert skillset in MS Excel
  • Ability to work cross functionally with high attention to detail.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills to socialize performance.
