About this job:

The Brand Manager will ensure overall consistency and integrity of Ross private brands and labels. He or she will develop a strong knowledge base of Ross product and private brand positioning. The Brand Manager will collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams to ensure that private branded product adheres to product guardrails and that logo and packaging design integrity is maintained. He or she will leverage analytical skills to monitor, audit and identify opportunities to refresh private brands and labels.


Brand Management:Assess and evaluate private brand/label positioning within Ross and the competition; Ensure private brand/label product and packaging creates a cohesive statement in store

Partner with Merchant Teams to develop deep understanding of Ross private brand/label product and influence decisions

Review long range brand/label sales plans and progress against them

Partner with Merchant teams to strategize on how to achieve brand sales goals

Partner with Packaging Art Director to ensure brand/label integrity is maintained in packaging design across all product areas

Partner with copywriter to ensure brand/label integrity is maintained in copy voice across all product areas

Brand Auditing, Consulting and Training:Develop and conduct brand/label audits according to audit calendar to ensure adherence to both product and packaging brand/label guardrails; Create and implement action plans to improve brand consistency

Attend key product meetings and recommend appropriate brand application/ segmentation to Merchant Teams

Attend key packaging meetings and advise Packaging Team on how to evolve packaging design within brand/label guardrails

Support Merchants with training on branding, brand/label guardrails and segmentation

Create and Maintain Tools: Document definitions/personalities and product guardrails for all existing brands/labels Create implement and maintain tools and/or visuals that assist the team in visualizing brands/labels

Partner with packaging team to ensure brand/label guides are up to date

Incorporate and maintain product guardrails within each brand/label guide

Communication and Collaboration:Develop strong collaborative relationships with Merchant teams and leadership;

Influence Merchant branding decisions and make recommendations as needed to ensure that brand integrity is maintained

Serve as a credible contact and resource for cross-functional teams on all private brand-related projects or inquiries

Highly organized with strong attention to detail

Interpersonal Effectiveness; Ability to collaborate and build organizational relationships by influencing

Analytical problem solving and decision making skills; leverages data and applies solid judgment to analysis

Time Management

Process Management

Bachelor's degree or equivalent

8-10 years of managing brand audits, launches and extensions at a large retailer, branding or CPG firm

Strong aesthetic taste; ability to influence branding decisions using design and trend knowledge

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Adobe Creative Suite

Moderate level analytical skills
