Senior Analyst, Strategic Sourcing

GENERAL PURPOSE:


The Sr. Strategic Sourcing Analyst will focus on helping the Store Operations department at Ross achieve savings results. This person will perform detailed data analysis including savings, inventory, purchasing, logistics, financials, risk, and general data modeling analysis. The Sr. Analyst will deftly apply strategic sourcing methods to vendor research, negotiations, and contracting processes. The Sr. Analyst will also be required to maintain detailed savings trackers, monitor purchasing and inventory patterns, and support the creation of presentations. The Sr. Analyst is expected to lead simple strategic sourcing processes independently and with minimal supervision. This person will have frequent interactions with vendors, internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze spend, purchasing, inventory, logistics, financial, and commodity index data to develop insights into how Ross can improve its procurement, create savings, improve quality, reduce business risks, and improve customer service
  • Maintain created savings through development of data models, frameworks, and trackers to ensure that Ross is achieving the savings that were created through Strategic Sourcing activities
  • Work with team to conduct pricing analysis and negotiations
  • Support the writing of contracts including Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, and Service Level Agreements
  • Synthesize results of analysis into clear recommendations. These recommendations should be easily summarized as well as expanded in detail, depending on situational requirements
  • Work with stakeholders to understand sourcing needs, product specifications, pricing targets, and sourcing constraints
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate the RFx process from start-to finish
  • Drive sourcing activities through e-sourcing tools
  • Synthesize insights in purchasing and inventory patterns and interface with the Purchasing team to execute based on these insights
  • Work with Purchasing team to develop insights into inventory and purchasing patterns which improve accuracy and reduce errors

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • BA/BS preferably with an analytical focus (e.g. Economics, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain). Degree from a top school is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years post-college experience. Experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Management Consulting or Retail is a plus
  • Must be highly motivated as this is a fast pace, high growth opportunity
  • Must have a data-driven approach to solving problems
  • Requires very strong quantitative skills and a good sense of how to dissect problems. Must have experience in dealing with large data sets and integrating multiple data inputs into scenario analysis
  • Must have very close attention to details and the drive to get things right with minimal supervision
  • Needs to be able to build effective working relationships within Ross
  • Must be able to listen, understand, and communicate with employees at all levels of the company
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
